ERSASCOPE 2 Plus
The Next Generations of BGA, CSP & Flip Chip Optical Inspection Systems

The Best is now Better! The Optical and Mechanical Master for Lead Free SMT, BGA, CSP & Flip Chip Inspection

Since ERSA invented the ERSASCOPE now more than 6 years ago, our engineers have been striving to continue to meet the demands of an ever changing market. 2 years ago, ERSA introduced the ERSASCOPE 2 system which included the revolutionary Flip Chip optical head, Once again responding to our customer needs, ERSA is bow proud to introduce our new ERSASCOPE platform which offers three very specific functional advantages: superior picture quality, improved lighting, and increased light management.

Fist and foremost, we have replaced the existing industrial camera (720 x 576 pixels) with a newly designed mega pixel digital camera. This high resolution (1280 x 1024 pixels) digital camera uses the state of the art USB 2.0 technology and offers a 400% increase in resolution! Superior picture quality, increased light sensitivity and Plug and Play ease of use with USB 2.0 technology are the main user advantages. This new camera is now standard for both the ERSASCOPE and the ERSACOPE 2 systems.

Secondly, the new ERSASCOPE 2 plus inspection system now comes standard with the newly designed MHLS Metal Halide Light Source. The metal halide light bulb offers a much cleaner, crisper and brighter white light compared to other systems. A mechanical iris regulates the light quantity without changing the temperature or colour of the light during dimming.

Finally, the new metal halide light bulbs are lower cost, but have an average expected lifetime of over 2000 hours. This represents a 400% lifetime improvement over the previous light source! Finally, from a standpoint of light management, the new ERSASCOPE 2 plus inspection system now comes standard with a mechanical iris adapter for the additional gooseneck lighting. Also standard is a newly designed fibre optic light brush. This new light brush is made up of individual fibres (0.050mm diameter) which can be inserted under most area array packages of optimal lighting during inspection.

ERSA continues to make necessary improvements to its line of inspection systems which help our customers discover critical problems. In so doing, we are staying true to our original ERSASCOPE motto, "To See is to Survive!"

New Semi-Automatic Selective Soldering System - Reproducible Quality for All Budgets!

ECOSELECT 350 - An Economical Quality Improvement for Selective Soldering

Automated selective soldering is currently one of the most interesting areas in electronics production. It contributes substantially to process reliability and raises products quality to a higher level. The high capital investment involved, however, has prevented high-end selective soldering systems from being commonly used in smaller companies.

ERSA's selective soldering line now provides new possibilities - especially for manufactures with budget constraints. The ECOSELECT 350 is an introductory semi-automatic selective soldering system which allows for both single spot and heavy-mass soldering.

The ECOSELECT 350 was engineered using ERSA's complete experience as technology- and market leader in the field of selective soldering. Permanent and close contact to the world's top VERSAFLOW customers provided an invaluable source of information for the development of the new system with ergonomic and space-saving design.

The ECOSELECT 350 can be universally and flexibly used providing both spot soldering by means of the proven single-spot precision soldering nozzle and simultaneous soldering by means of the ERSA multi-fountain technique. So, the main emphasis is either on flexibility or throughput depending on the application.

The basic machine is equipped with one soldering module and the extended version can be equipped with two soldering modules to increase throughput! An integrated handling system provides program-controlled PCB transport ensuring individual component processing. Various options to adapt the system to the customer's requirements are also available. The easy operation, programming and accessibility for maintenance round of the system's key features.

The ECOSELECT 350 can be operated as a stand-alone system or "soldering cell" providing near "zero-defect" soldering results. Furthermore the automatic feeding of the selective soldering system from a transport or storage system is currently prepared.

Its comfortable WINDOWSTM - based 32-bit operating software controls and monitors the machine functions and can comfortably and easily be handled via touch-screen. Furthermore, the software records all relevant process parameters and messages.
